Your lyrics too?

Yes.

Talking of lyrics, I read you had influence on (and shared projects with) Dennis Ostermann from ISC...

It’s not an influence - it is more a real friendship <smile>. For ‘Brüder’ it was great to incorporate his energy. He has great voice and sings with passion – perfect person for that song. Also his music, it’s great…

Comparing to Melotron’s it’s a bit dark <smile>

I like both positive and dark music. You know, I wrote lyrics for 'Zauberschloss' in one night. Just listened to the music over and over and over, and said “Wow! I know what lyrics this song needs!”

‘Brüder’ carries the album, and it’s somewhat different than the rest…

Main point of ‘Brüder’ is aimlessness. There are lot of young people in Germany, and I think in the rest of the world too, that have no goal in their lives, no guiding idea. They are just lethargic. When you ask them what they want to do they just have no answer. We want to give our life a sense, to at least try…

But you said previously that now in Germany you can do whatever you want, think whatever you want. Why are people lethargic then?

They have no goal. No point of being. Back in years of socialism, idea was to fight against capitalism. It was completely wrong, but it was an idea. Now, people don’t have that goal, they don’t have any goal. ‘Reich Aus Glas’ for instance, is a story of a girl hooked on drugs, living in her secluded, cold world with no future, no goal. When you try to help or give advice, she replies:” You know nothing about me! Who are you to try to help me?”
We really think about that a lot, and we came to conclusion that the one and only point of our life is, not money or huge audience, but to be happy. When we close our eyes, we can say “I’m happy! I tried my best in this life and now I can die happy”.

What is a prevailing thought of youth in Europe? In which direction will young Europe go?

I have mixed feelings for the future. I hope it will move in good direction. When you use your brain and think what you are and where you are – that helps. There are better ways to resolve conflicts than killing each other.

Where do you see yourself in 10 years?

<smile> I don’t know. I’m on a tour right now and honestly don’t know in which city we’ll end up tomorrow, let alone 10 years <laugh>. But I know I’m enjoying it. And that uncertainty – it feels like a gamble. I don’t know what will come, but I’ll try it.
From beginning of Melotron up to this point, it has been long and fantastic journey in many different ways, It has been great and I’m enjoying it.
