IN STRICT CONFIDENCE – “Engelsstaub” CDS
Finally! :))
When you have a fantastic
song then it’s easy
to make fantastic remixes.
That accounts both to 'Engelsstaub' and 'Brüder'. What a combination,
huh?
Why didn’t Melotron do a remix of 'Engelsstaub'? That
would have been a killer…
Anyways – get the disc. I’m
just going to give you a quick look on it, just to assure you
that there are
no unpleasant surprises. Trust me, trust ISC – there
are none.
- ‘extended isc version’ gives a
slightly different angle on title track – it’s accent
on guitar is phenomenal and added bars extend the song to over
six minutes achieving smoothness further enhanced by clear vocals.
Shivers.
- When you give something to herr Engler you
get dkay - Bass and
broken rhythm. Slow and effective, especially with changed main
theme.
- (stevedragon mix) hm… stripped to pure
dance track in the best possible meaning. How do they call them, “dancefloor
killers”? Here’s one. Doubled frau Stelzer’s
voice on “...aus wunden meiner haut/fliesst
engelsstaub” has magnificent effect! Steve
Dragon [a.k.a Stefan Vesper, one of the ISC crewmembers]
did a great job.
- Knowing their releases, you can expect at least one dark, gloomy track (usually
around 10 minutes long). It bears the name 'Kiss of death' on this one. What
can I say about it? Classic ISC death-track. With falling
angels, kisses and doom. Interesting lyrics.
- “ 'auriez vous peur du passe’ ?”
- And finally, (isc version) of Melotron’s
hit. It does sound like ISC now :) I already gave my comment on
it’s ‘brother’ (link),
so this time you’re on your own…
Video? It reminded me of old Sonic Youth stuff, the cinematography,
not music of course. Entire minuswelt musikfabrik concept
for this album is really good. I especially liked hectic flight/walk of our
angel and the make-up. Overall mark though, don’t know, kiss at the end
is a bit too much… :)
So, here you are. “Engelsstaub” CDS
, chosen by you (us) to be the next single from “Mistrust
The Angels”, continues with idea, concept and quality of
it’s parent. By my humble opinion, “MTA” was
one of the best albums in 2002. In Strict Confidence continues
strong.
