RONI SIZE -
Touching Down
A completely solo party from Roni Size this
time out, but don’t worry as he’s on top form, as we’ve
come to expect. Veteran of the worldwide scene, this is actually Roni’s
first solo LP and he shows us how he likes to break it down live
style.
"‘Touching Down" is a continuous mix over 16 tracks and is a
rollocking, full on dnb ride to get you up and at ‘em. ‘Killer Drums
and Bass’ Roni says over the intro and the man keeps his
promise. The mix aspect keeps the pace up throughout (no fade outs!) and will
have your place heaving like the dancefloor at Fabric! Rolling
bass lines, thundering drums, hooks, breakdowns, killer drops - they’re
all here for the rinse out. Dancefloor classics like 'Sound Advice', 'Playtime',
and 'Scrambled Eggs' only heighten the mix and you’ll find it hard to keep
your toes from tapping and heart from racing under Roni’s control. ‘Sorry
for you’ gives us more chilled halftime breather and then its back onto
the accelerator for the second course. The fun doesn’t stop there though,
and the mix remains on fire until the close.
The pace is relentless and hectic, this is pure dancefloor DnB no messing and
it’s great stuff! Put this on and let a smile creep across your face.
