:WUMPSCUT: - Bone Peeler

This is probabaly 10th or 11th studio album by Rudy Ratzinger who built more than impressive and respectful reputation among the dark crowd. After "Wreath Of Barbs" :WUMPSCUT: became one of the biggest names in electro industrial scene. There is not much philosophy when we speak about :WUMPSCUT: music and phenomena: we all know that we shall meet Rudy at the place where all worst dreams and realities come true. "Bone Peeler" is only just another sequel in exploration of human drama, a favorite Rudy's field of research. It is pretty much predictable material where we got all we could have expected and all we have already heard, but there is also that unexplainable thing that make us excited whenever we listen :WUMSPCUT:. I cannot say I was ever bored listening to Rudy's new music which is totally opposite to the case of listening, for instance, acts like RAMONES, TOY DOLLS or NEUROTIC FISH ( when we talk about electro scene) where old formula was being recycled for million times. "Bone Peeler" proves that the same formula can work if you use it in a right way. 'Crown Of Thorns' is the opener with very dynamic conception mixed with interesting samples and pretty sensitive vocals that gives great opportunity for enjoying :WUMPSCUT: sound in the late evening listenings. 'Just A Tenderness' is a down tempo track with minimal sound, again filled with plenty of samples which is the case with the whole album. 'The March Of The Dead' continues in the same fashion, but in this case the theme is more "Dawn Of The Dead" than "The Exorcist" (geez!). 'Fear In Your Eyes' (finally) brings more floating sound where melody and vocals meet perfection. RISE AGAIN is the classic sheme that almost all present harsh-minimal ebm bands want to use and follow. So simple and so breathtaking music and conception, "minimal" is the right word to describe the music. Always tragic, dramatic and faithfull to the cold sound, WUMPSCUT is still one of my favorite old school neo ebm bands from the beginning of 90's. 'Our Fatal Longing' is an amazing piece of "Bone Peeler" cake and it is easily the best track of the album. 'Scavenger' and 'In The Peace Of Night' are another beautiful night tracks with marching rhythms and breathtaking lyrics after which comes 'Your Last Salute' that closes the album. And then, after we sum everything we heard on "Bone Peeler" we can say that the old formula worked. Playing with emotions and desperation will always find the target. Ratzinger definitely knows that and he does not change anything. Many will say that this is boring old style, but I cannot agree to that at all since his direction is very prolific and successful. This new album will satisfy all Rudy's hardcore fans and many other dark music lovers that come under the influence of the phenomenon called :WUMPSCUT:. The ones that will not like "Bone Peeler" are nothing new and shocking 'cause they probably always hated :WUMPSCUT:'s music. "Addiction" is the right mark for this good work.
