'Light Morph Theater'. It is
a sort of sophisticated, artistic version of video beams used on
rave-parties?
Light Morph Theater is a Performance Art Company, a few of the venues for it
have included museums, theaters and nightclubs. Huge s
creens rotate with projections
of my digital art in several layers with vivid color, story, music and choreography
taking the viewer on a highly imaginative 3D journey.
More technology: could you please describe tools used in creation of your
artwork?
Imagination foremost, my third eye and everything that flows into my mind, it
is always evolving. A lot of interesting images have been created using electricity
instead of light in photographing the objects (I later insert into paintings)
with electronic beams in the plasma and gas combustion.
Music
?
Since it is possible to make a computer created visual patterns using music rhythms,
yes, it is a tool. For example: generate warm colored dots on a high tempo and
cool colors on a low tempo, the combi nation of each 2 notes will generate a Fibonacci
sequence that in turn will position the pixels. Each of the 7 notes would
be assigned a number as the music plays a combination of the first and following
note, there would be 2 numbers that would generate a continuous Fibonacci
sequence that would produce X and Y coordinates for the pixels, the result:
a million dots would converge on the monitor creating a beautiful picture, the
mind will interpret the picture as multidimensional since it will contain rhythm
and distortion of the rhythm making it capable of translating into another world
inside of our imagination. Does the mind actually differentiate between the interpretations
of the music or the picture, is it processed perhaps on the same emotional level.
We are moved by music and moved by art, is it the same code. The mathematics
has been captured by the brain regardless of the format (visual or audio), therefore
could emotions also be based on mathematics? These are the questions that occupy
my mind. I am moved by the idea of finding answers to these questions and merging
that understanding into my art.
What else inspires you to create?
Lack of communication! Our language feels primitive; it is difficult to explain
with words to fully describe my thoughts. I also have such a vivid imagination;
I feel a need to express the visions...
